We had a Saturday church clean-up and the pick-up had been loaded for the transfer site. My wife was still in the fellowship hall eating lunch, I asked her if she wanted to go with me. She gave me this wided eye look and forced out a "no". Later she told me God had warned her not to go but didn't understand it at the time. Finishing unloading, I stopped at a intersection and was going to turn right. I looked to the left for traffic when I heard a loud "pop" and it felt like someone whoosed a fan at me. I turned to see a funnel cloud of smoke copming up at me and the darringer I had forgot that it was on the seat covered up had fallen. The thought just started to formulate that the gun had gone off when blood started spurting from my carotid artery. I put pressure on the site and the vehicle behind me called 911. As I stood on the road holding my artery I knew this was from God. I never accused Him or was upset but was seeking what He wanted from this. I knew then if I died I would have perfect love, peace, and forgiveness - no chance for a change of live style or confessions. Peace was there. I was flown to a trauma center and after discharge carried a picture of the x-ray with me. When someone asked "How are you" as a greeting I told them I felt shot, pulled out the picture, told them the story and then witnessed to them about God and His caring. One day I wtinessed to nine people in 45 minutes. God used this  to glorify Him. The poem was written a few weeks after the accident.
